My friend and I were looking for a nice location and a quick hike with some scenery. Wow! this place had it! It's about an hour walk all the way around the lake with beautiful views. Be careful to not take the wrong turn. You can park down by the shelter, walk past the beach, take the first left and that will take you around the lake. After our hike we headed to the Mexican restaurant (Aztlan) for some margarita's. Great food and great prices too

I've been going to this park for over 40 years, many years with my kids when they were younger. Great hiking trails, one not at all strenuous. Beautiful lake. Back in the day they had a very tall metal slide which thrilled the kids. Taken down because of safety issues, but they still have a nice play area. At one time you could go up a steep hill and pick apples from old growth trees from back when it was a farm.

What a lovely park. It has a pond that is considered safe for swimming and lovely hiking trails! We saw loads of butterfies-- monarchs and swallowtails.

We spent 3 hours here at the end of May, hiking the various trails. Several were very wet due to recent rain, but we enjoyed the variety of landscape......marshy, woods and meadows. We like to find new birds, and we saw Yellow Warblers, many Orioles,an Indigo Bunting and a Yellow Bellied Sapsucker. We also counted 15 turtles of various sizes sunning themselves near the lake. Mt Horeb is lucky to have such a nice park in close proximity to the town.
