I’ve gone here a few times now and I get harassed by the rangers everytime. It’s $10 every time you go and they really make sure you pay everytime. It says the money goes to maintenance but I pick glass up off the beach everytime I go.

The environment and lake are great, as far as the lake is concerned. Sadly that is where it stops. The county owns the lake, and they were horrible to deal with. We were constantly harassed by park staff and we were not alone. They have nothing better to do than be Badge-heavy. They told my sister-in-law she had to hurry up while going to the bathroom. We were told that there is a curfew and no one is allowed to get out of the camper after a certain time even to go to the bathroom. That time was never told to us just told to hurry up and get back. Turning a great weekend into a horrible experience. We will never go back. We have heard that from several people who have gone to that lake. I recommend any lake but that one. I want others to enjoy their time and not waste it with heavy-handed park rangers.

Excellent customer service all around. Never got a chance to use our reservation for a pontoon rental due to the unfortunate raging wildfires nearby. However, I spoke to different staff on 3 occasions, calling with questions as we came from out of state, called to make the reservation, and received a call from the marina after reservation made. All communications were pleasant, informative and extremely accommodating! Sorry we missed the boating experience as that probably would have been great too if not for the wildfires.

The boat rental and marina staff are exceptionally helpful, polite & welcoming. Rented a pontoon for the day, great boat, zero issues. Very well priced. No added fees, upfront on cost of fuel. The quality of the staff from the store, to the marina really made a great day on the lake even better! Highly recommend!

Sailing on Carter Lake is a great experience with pure clean water and shifting wind and pop up clouds and a good challenge.
