Found this place to go hiking with Quincy. The Copperfield Nature Trails Start in Copperfield park. This little neighborhood park has a nice picnic shelter and a killer playscape for the kiddos. The restrooms not so killer just a port-a-john. this turned out to be a pretty good hike of just over 5 miles. This is an out and back. The trail starts at the back of the park along ( I am going to go out on a limb here a section of the trail is called Penny Lane) Copperfield Creek? a small creek with a pretty darn deep canyon. there are a couple of small ponds in this section. It continues across Shropshire Blvd where you have a section with a canyon on both sides one the creek afore mentioned and the other Walnut Creek. Both are at least 50 feet deep and the ridge is only 10 feet wide. there are several overlooks along this section. Then you get to a break in the trail that causes you to have to do some sidewalk travelling. But do it because once you re enter the trail off Peggotty Place there is a pretty nice waterfall straight ahead although the trail turns to the right. Check out the falls and if you want start back. the trail does extend about a half mile farther but mostly it is between two neighborhoods on a 30 foot right of way. Not much to see but if you are burning miles why not? we actually found 4 small waterfalls along this trail and you will too if you don't mind a bit of bushwhacking when you hear them. 5+ miles that's impressive for an urban neighborhood hike!
