CLOSED to the public. The nearby golf course bought lease rights to the lake from the private owner. Although the golf course promised lake would remain open to the public, it is not. If you want to pay $600 for a season pass they will let you canoe or SUP while private speed boats rip around. Open to public? Not really. I’ve gone here since the mid-80’s. Not any more. :/

As of January 1, 2019 the parking area and boat ramp at the State Wildlife Area have been closed and fenced off. This effectively ends all public access to this popular lake/reservoir. Note that Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) removed their stocked fish from the lake in Summer 2018. TA has been asked to remove this Things To Do listing, but has chosen not to do so.

Okay, new update !!! Well now they did it to everyone, not sure w.ho (they) are, but now you can't even get to the lake. It has been fenced off to everyone. Entrance is closed by a wire fence, so no admit to anyone. Doesn't really seem fair to the public to close it down completely, but now we have one less place to fish

We stumbled across this beautiful place while heading north to scout some four wheel drive trails. It is really scenic. I guess it has now been purchased by a developer , who has put in a golf course, and I assume there are going to be parcels of land available. Hopefully, it will all be open to the public again soon.

This is my favorite place in Loveland to kayak. The water is usually calm. Not a lot of people. The view of the mountains is awesome. The only thing that could be better is the shelters and bathrooms. I don't use the shelters myself but I'm sure some family might want to. The problem is they need to cut back the trees. Its totally over grown. Not very inviting. The bathrooms can get kind of nasty.
