tripadvisorThis is a Route 66 roadside stop. It is a small building with a milk bottle on top. Even though it is near downtown, there is plenty of free parking that is right next to it. Of all the Route 66 giants, this one ranks pretty low on the list. It's an easy stop, so it can't hurt to pull over and take a picture for a minute. In the grand scheme of things though, this doesn't really deserve any sort of detour to see it.
MoreSo glad they didn't get rid of it. The Milk Bottle Grocery is located on a small triangular piece of property along Historic Route 66. The grocery was built in 1930, and the giant milk bottle was added in 1948. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. the “Oklahoma City ... Where the Thunder Rolls mural is on the side.
MoreIf it is not on your way to somewhere not really worth going to. Just an old milk bottle display on top of a building. No signage explaining it.
MoreStopped for a photo. Unfortunately there is not much else to draw you to this area. Luckily it was on our Route to our hotel. It is on Route 66.
MoreHad to stop here for the Route 66 nostalgia! Parked across from it at the Walgreens and walked over. Cute photo stop.
