tripadvisorOnce again I'm writting to tell people how fantastic this hike is. But I would say 2 things I wish they'd improve. We really wish when you hiked to the top of the mountain they would have a bench. Just somewhere to take a load off or eat a snake. The other thing is nobody knows you can go through the stable or across the road to see the buildings. We talked to a couple that's been going there for years and had know idea. Wish there was a sign that said A walk through the past or something. Because nobody knows. Anyway still our favorite hike in the area. And we won't stop going. Also they really keep the trail up.
MoreSince Covid and now with reservations we know longer go to RMNP which was our favorite place to hike. So to get a Great Cardio workout we go to Bobcat ridge which is only a 20 to 25 minute drive from our house. We usually try to hike 11 to 13 miles when we go. And we absolutely Love this place. Only thing they never tell you is you can go through the stables and other old buildings near the parking lot. But you won’t be disappointed. Just an absolutely beautiful hike. Enjoy
MoreThis area is Simply Beautiful. We go here hiking twice a week. We usually do around 14 miles hiking. We go to the very top and looking at the Mountains from above is Amazing. Been going here since it’s opened. We’ve talked to people that have been going here for years. They never knew you could go through the stables and other small buildings because nothing says you can. But it is definitely a Beautiful area.
MoreHad a wonderful day to walk/hike this area, overcast morning making a cool day for the hike. Lots of open area that would be hot on a clear day or during the warmer months, so you want to consider that if you plan to visit. Saw wild turkeys, deer and elk, so there are lots of wildlife, but again that is because the time of the year and mild temperatures. The trail is comfortable to hike, easy to moderate, but the length of 4 miles may be a bit much for families with kids.
MoreA great place for a family hike, or a run. You can choose the trail, short or long. A jaunt out to the old cabin is a lot of fun, and gets you feeling deeper in the old piedmont.
