One of the first streets surveyed in Austin, Sixth Street was originally known as Pecan Street. During the day, shops, restaurants and historic buildings are the main attraction, but by night, the street becomes festive with live music, shows and special events. On Friday and Saturday evenings and nights, the blocks are generally closed to automobile traffic for an all-out street party. Stop by for a beer or a show, or just enjoy watching the eclectic nightlife of Austin.

Reviews
tripadvisorIf you like the smell of piss beer and vomit while hearing ear splitting music then you're going to love Austin's 6th Street..
MoreThis is an area you need to see but just know that there are a lot of homeless, some aren't so nice or have issues and many of the bars are rundown from the outside. Worth a walk through and maybe to pop in and out of some places but seems like everyone has graduated over to Rainey Street. I was here 20+ years ago and it definitely wasn't like this.
MoreGreat nightlife and club hopping scene! Food is awesome during the day. Definitely a place to have a Uber on standby. Don't drink and drive✌
MoreTrashy and ghetto . American Embarrassment .Homeless strung out laying all over.Kids hang out , kids with crap respect for anything . Super ghetto .Austin embarrassment .
MoreI live in Vegas and this was sloppy let me tell you. It's just filled with immature drunks looking for attention. If you are a child excited to drink until you vomit head on down and join your kind.
