It's a nice place to get your San Antonio trip started. It is close to the airport. I was a little surprised that it was at the entrance of a mall. You will need to park there to get out of your car to take a picture.

I mean… it’s a must do if you ‘need’ to take pictures of silly/big things in trips (like I do), my wife was a hard - pass! Is kind of cool.

The boots themselves are huge and look cool but MAN are they a pita to get to. I'm surprised no one else has said that. They're in a mall parking lot, but against the freeway and no parking anywhere near them, like the other side of them is the road. You have to FIND a parking spot within a mile and walk to them. I recommend going early in the morning or late at night when traffic is slow.

Always stop and see these when we're in San Antonio! Definitely a little silly, but I always get a kick out of seeing them – it doesn't get old! Got to see them lit up at night when we visited in December, which was even better!

We do not know what it is about these free quick oddities in an area that draw us in but we continually go out of our way to gawk for a few short minutes. Get the proverbial pictures and selfies and move on. Seeking the stories behind these oddities is also an attraction of ours. These boots were built in 1979 and were on display for a short time in Washington DC. They were then purchased and trucked back to this location as an attraction to the North Star Mall. It is in the entryway to this busy mall so you need to park and walk through traffic to get to them. We did drivebys from every angel and moved on. Fun free stop to kill a little time if you are close...why not?
