Not much in Lake City, but the local art gallery on Marion is a pleasant stop. I was tempted with the finer artworks in the rear, but yet the gallery has many interesting offerings. Cordially welcomed, I'd say drop by. Top it off with a visit to the fine restaurant across the street.

We walked into this gallery and saw some really cool art pieces. During our time they were also doing a craft show for the holidays. They also showcase the young people of the town in their gallery to give them a chance to show off their skills and earn money. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

I started with a cell phone photography class. Next, I'm taking an oil outdoor painting class. $30 for a 2-hour class and most of the classes include all materials, so you don't have to make a major investment if it's not something you love. In most classes, you leave with a frameable piece of YOUR OWN original art. Even better, there's a youth program for kids under 18; only $15 per year and they get a free fine arts lesson/workshop each month of the school year. With COVID still affecting schools, this is a great outlet for families who are having to home school. Very few small towns can offer an art gallery; this is a real plus for this community. You should also be on the lookout for the free wine/cheese receptions each month for their featured artists. I like this place so much that I want to volunteer with them. They had to close during the quarantine but they're now back to regular.
