tripadvisorNot really anything special. It’s in an awkward place in the Riverwalk area!
MoreIt seems out of place in its location and somewhat out of context. It is red and prominent but alienates the nearby historic areas. Should be in a park or a shopping center.
MoreThis important central location would have been better served celebrating San Antonio's unbreakable pioneering spirit with a statue of Travis, Crockett, Bowie and Houston. Unfortunately, this big piece of red metal adds nothing and is so generic anybody could have done this in 8th grade shop class. I'm sure the artist means well, and the object seems fine, but it looks like it should be in an artsy area of town or at a shopping mall entrance. Some city councilman was probably appeasing some group resulting in this.
MoreA good example of how art can unite and make a simple traffic rotunda in the middle of a city stand out. It is over 20 years old, but age has not shown up yet.
MoreNot much to it. Just a statue/symptom in the street. Makes the streets more interesting but not worth going out of your way for. However - San Antonio has done a nice job of having little gestures like this in downtown core
