If meditative labyrinth walking is your thing, give this one a try. It's on the grounds of the First Congregational Church. The Peace Park is a planting of trees in honor of historic figures of peace, each tree for a different person. The trees surround the labyrinth. the labyrinth itself is unpaved, the walkway designated by stones. A couple of concrete benches are situated at the beginning of the labyrinth. A large tree is at the center. The labyrinth is close to the busy highway, but drivers are not able to see the walkers. Traffic noise may be bothersome at first, but try to think of it as ocean waves and you'll forget about it. This is a traditional labyrinth layout. The one in nearby Sholom Park is not, and the reflective messages at Sholom are too numerous, they distract me from my prayerful walk. I've never been able to find the one at Oakbrook Enrichment Center, also in Ocala. I have never encountered another labyrinth walker when i've been using the Peace Park labyrinth, and that suits my prayerful walking just fine.
