tripadvisorThis spot used to be way better before all of the yuppies flooded in, turning the space into a circus, and before all the boring little shops were placed in former spaces that artists were kicked out from. This space used to actually generate lots of cool things, now it's a shell of itself only meant for the transaction of capital. Take me back to when it was just skaters and graffiti writers at foundation, when no cops came through and it wasnt flooded with vapid yuppies that lack any real appreciation for graffiti.
MoreThe Foundation Walls provided a cool way to see the unique graffiti art of Asheville. I loved wandering around to be surprised with new art at every turn. The area isn't too big, but does have a smokehouse, coffee shop, and brewery. The whole Arts District is under construction, but for now I'd recommend driving to the walls from the rest of the district. Several maps make the area look walk-accessible, but it's mostly a walk on grass next to a highway. I'll be back next time I visit, though!!
MoreA great place to take time to visit if you love graffiti and talented artwork. There are several unique shops in this art district area as well.
MoreI visited a couple of years ago before the construction was complete on a few new venues. What a great improvement. If you like wall art, beer and coffee you can't go wrong.
MoreAlthough it was rainy when we went, it was a cool way to see some authentic street art. You could wander around as you please and see all that local artists have to offer here.
