tripadvisorTouching memorial to our heroes in blue. Wish more cities would honor them this way. Thank an officer!
MoreThis is a very special and emotional place located outside of the courthouse in downtown Chattanooga. It is safe day or night even though there is a constant homeless presences. A definite must see if you would like to educate the young ones about the sacrifice the men and women of the Law Enforcement community make on a daily basis for all of our safety. Like the police or not, it's a calling and not just a job to the those men and women who choose to serve and spend time away from their own families to protect yours and mine.
MoreMemorial for the fallen heros of law enforcement. Detailed bronze display, centrally located close to the court house in downtown Chattanooga. Right on Market Street near 6th Street.
MoreHaving just come from the 2017 Fraternal Order of Police convention in Nashville, when we saw this memorial, we had to stop. It is a simple and powerful memorial to those who have fallen specifically in Chattanooga and Hamilton County, Tennessee, as well as all over. The memorial started to become a reality in 1988 and after raising private funds, in 2002 the work on the memorial was begun. The local artist was Cessna Decosimo and he created the simple bronze block with the bronze statues. The three statues in three niches are a grieving man and a grieving woman, while the third is St. Michael the Archangel (the patron saint of law enforcement). Every year in May, a memorial service takes place here when law enforcement officers, their families and friends gather to remember those who have fallen and those who serve.
MoreThis memorial to police fallen in the line of duty is imaginatively designed, beautifully crafted, and well placed. Walk around all four sides and read the plaque nearby to fully understand what they represent.
