Beautiful swimming hole. There’s limited parking space so go early. Some parts were deeper than others. This place is great for a day out. Have a picnic and cool off.

The Blue Hole Park is located a few blocks west of N. Austin Ave. in Georgetown. There is parking on S. Rock Street near Monumento Restaurant. The park makes use of the South Fork of the San Gabriel River which is dammed up to create a good size body of water that is clear, blue and just beautiful against the limestone cliffs in the backdrop. We passed by recently and found a handful of people taking advantage of the hot weather and enjoying a swim in the hole. Below the first dam there is a much smaller pool with cascades, which is nice for families with younger children. There are trails around the park, including one that takes you up the cliffs on the opposite bank. You'll also find a few tables, public toilets. In January each year they recent trout into the Blue Hole, provides a couple weekends of fun fishing for those interested. Check the TP&W website for future release dates.

Very beautiful to walk around. It was not to busy on December 31. It looked clean, we did not get in water. There was no one in it at this time of year. We just walked taking pictures on rocks and near other formations. There were several people who had dogs running around without leases, including one big dog that tackled my little one in excitement. So watched for disrespectful dog owners. Lucky my child only had scratches. Otherwise we would still recommend for the beauty of it.

Despite what other reviews say this is not a place to jump off of cliff's. There are signs everywhere stating as much. Because its used heavily there is that element that loves to leave their trash anywhere. Although there are rubbish cans allover. If you dont mind kids pee and dog pee this us the pkace for you. There are signs everywhere saying that the City of Georgetown doesn't test the water. The reason is because it would test bad off the charts in the stagnant areas. With all that said it has loads of free parking. A bathroom. And a nice picnic area with a decent trail. Its not a blue hole as much as its a green one.Its a fun place when the water is flowing. A great place to bring kids. Just a reminder lots of dog owners feel that the rule of having a leashed dog doesn't apply to them. There usually a friendly police person parked under the trees in the picnic area. They are great and helpful. Enjoy!

This is a very nice place; however, due to nearby construction, construction workers take up most of the parking with p/u trucks and commercial vehicles. Based upon this situation it is almost impossible to park. There were three folks fishing here one morning last week but all the parking was filled. Very sad and poor planning by city authorities.
