The carriage ride was fine, but our driver talked way to much about how the horses are cared for. I got the point, that Mackinac Island takes care of their horses, but did not need to hear about it the whole ride.

I frequently visit the Laguna Madre to Kayak. You can see beautiful sunsets. YOu can eat at a couple of restaurants out there. The best way to see the Laguna Madre is in a boat. So, it is not all that crowded.

Go and get out on the water. When the gulf is rough this area is smooth for folks that are motion sickness prone.

it was very quiet here. The water was like glass. Mainly RVs from what I saw but a nice day spot. A few people were wade fishing. Very peaceful spot.
