This review is for March 2024~This event is a rather large multi-floor art project. You’ll need a lot of time to go through each floor - I would suggest to dedicate an entire day.The art displayed is certainly not fine art - rather it leans experimental, quirky, and messy. The vibe of the building itself is like that of an abandoned warehouse, very grungy. Is the art attractive? Well, no. But I found this event worth the time to check out.

I did not think it was worth a visit and suffer the bad air in the building without air conditioning on a hot and humid day. It is far from the metro and parking is difficult. A lot of staff exhibited was kitchy and provincial. It seems anyone can exhibit anything there. I did not see anything original or in anyway outstanding or memorable. But there is certainly a lot of stuff there and if you have nothing better to do, it may be a way to spend a few hours.

A good friend had an exhibit of her wonderful photos included at this annual art show, so we went. There must be 100's of artists showing their work in six floors of exhibit rooms that each are individually decorated and furnished by the artists themselves. The place is an endless warren like an art fair souk in which it's all too easy to get thoroughly lost. We spent a little over two hours and just barely covered two floors. Loved our friend's photos and found perhaps two or three individual works elsewhere that were interesting or even attractive : I found the vast majority of the were less than scintillating or original. But having a space like this right in downtown DC has the potential to be a wonderful treasure. I hope they keep it going and expand, maybe even add a little creative curation!
