This New Englander was aware of SXSW, South by South West, but never made plans to participate. I say participate rather than attend because the 9 day (in 2025, March 7-15) festival is interactive. The extravaganza has been described as a series of conferences and festivals that meet at the intersection between culture and technology.Full disclosure, after arriving in Austin on the final day of SXSW, I was strolling up and down a blocked off and very lively section of 6th Street when a local merchant advised me to visit the UK site, which, historically, is very well organized and appealing. The well-marked location stood at 508 6th Street. Greater Together @ BME, presented by the GREAT Britain & Northern Ireland Campaign, stated, ...we're celebrating a remarkable partnership with the finest American and British talent in our Greater Together takeover. When these two great nations come together, creative sparks fly. During a time of great division, this was positive and very welcome messaging.The three acts that I saw were strong. I am a novice when it comes to judging musical talent, but all of the necessary elements seemed to be in place for the musical groups I watched along with the large and enthusiastic crowd that had assembled on this pleasant afternoon.The British Musical Embassy had its act together and everything was running smoothly throughout my visit.SXSW attracts people from all over the world to an already diverse community and infuses Austin with even more spirit and energy than is usually exhibited in this great American city. People of all ages and generations from across the globe can come together for this dynamic, annual event and share an experience that will help to unify during unsettling times.

Downtown Austin welcomes musicians all over the world. SXSW is scheduled to host its annual event. Austin Convention Center and Fairmont are most crowded with artists.

South by Southwest is one amateur organization. They have not handled this crisis correctly and I believe they can never be trusted again.

Loved the SXSW fest. Austin is a very progressive city. Lots of very cool things to do and see! I came away with a want to come back to this city and explore so much more of it!

....maybe you will like if you are a hipster/milenial. But after last week, I won't be going back, for this anyway. My third time there. Think yowly female led bands, complaining about everything. A huge disappointment. They say it is going down in all ways... I am not surprised. Austin is great, but this (and ACL) is too appeasing (to the above named demographic).....sorry if you don't like that hipster/milenial. Will be surprised if TA will publish this.
