I wanted to find some of the more secluded and lesser known existing Civil War sites and came across this little gem. There is not much to it aside from a replica cannon, some information, and a sign, but it was still an interesting visit since I was in the area. If you are a Civil War buff it is worth checking out. Minimal parking as it is just off a street in a neighborhood.

I was doing a driving tour for smaller sights with the battle of Nashville, and tucked away in a neighborhood on higher elevation was the Redoubt. Redoubt No. 1 was one of five redoubts (small forts) built by Gen. John Bell Hood's Confederate Army as it occupied the countryside south of Nashville in December 1864. Parking is limited to one space, but a nice location.
