Spread across 153 acres (61.92 hectares) of lush greenery and landscaped gardens, the Rockville Civic Center Park is a must visit when in the city. Comprising of the Glenview Mansion, Croydon Creek Nature Center, F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater and the Social Hall, this tourist attraction is used for many occasions such as cultural and major events. The Classic Revival mansion built in 1926 is now the home of the Glenview Mansion Art Gallery and is available for conferences, weddings and holiday parties. Formerly the Glenview Farm, the Civic Center Park also has various facilities like picnic tables, nature trails, walking paths, climbing walls, playgrounds, tennis courts, open spaces, grill areas and a wildlife sanctuary. The Glenview Mansion was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

tripadvisorSeveral Rockville's attractions listed in Tripadvisor.com are located at this park. They include the Croydon Creek Nature Center, Rockville Cemetery, F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater, Glenview Mansion, Rockville Little Theater, hiking/walking trails, etc. Highly recommended to visit these attractions! Note, however, that there is a reasonable fee to see a play or a presentation at both theaters located here. All the other attractions are FREE!
MoreIn winter it's not much. Wait until spring when the flowers are blooming, and the activities are on the rise. Be sure to check out the mansion and pick up a list from the theater for shows throughout the year.
MoreThere are lots of things to see and do here when the weather is nice and warm. I visited its attractions on a cold, windy day and concluded that I would go back and visit them again when the weather is warmer. Attractions located here include the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater, Glenview Mansion, Croydon Creek Nature Center, Rockville Old Cemetery, hiking trails, etc.
MoreWe just saw Anything Goes at F. Scott Fitzgerald Theater on the park grounds. The play was beautifully performed. The leads were terrific, although the chorus was definitely not of the same caliber. Still, it was a wonderful experience and cost about the same as movie tickets. Plenty of parking and beautiful surroundings. What a joy to find this gem in the middle of Rockville!
MoreIt's a great place for a walk with a bunch of special features from a tennis court, an adjacent Nature Center with many of its own trails, the F Scott Fitzgerald theatre and an adjacent old cemetery with some interesting local history.
