We enjoyed hearing about and meeting the retired race horses, and feeding them carrots and special treats according to their diets. Joyce and Ken were great guides. Then we all went t to the races. Ken and Joyce showed us around Keeneland and even gave a few hints on betting.

First time visiting Lexington and booked a tour with Ken and Joyce. Had a fabulous time touring Keeneland Racetrack and Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farm. They were both very knowledgeable and personable and shared a lot of great information about the horses and surrounding area. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and highly recommend it !

We were visiting my son in Lexington and he surprised us with this insider tour of Keeneland and a visit to Old Friends. Ken was our tour guide and did a great job. We enjoyed both places, learned a lot and had fun. Five stars.

We recently took a tour with Prime Horse Tours that included visits to both Keeneland Race Course and Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farm, and it was an incredible experience.The tour of Keeneland Race Course was truly fascinating.Ken was very knowledgeable and shared plenty of interesting facts about the history of the venue and the sport of horse racing in general. The grandstand was stunning, and the manicured grounds were a pleasure to walk through. Ken took us right down to the rail and we arrived just in time for the horses to come out and practice. It was great to get a behind-the-scenes look at the world of horse racing and see how much effort goes into making it all happen.Visiting Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farm was a real highlight of the tour. It was heartwarming to see the retired racehorses being so well cared for and loved after their careers on the track were over. The guide was very passionate about the work that the farm does, and it was clear that they really care about the animals (he even brought cut-up carrots that we could feed to the horses). We got to meet some of the horses and hear their individual stories, which was a really special experience.Overall, I would highly recommend Prime Horse Tours for anyone interested in horses, horse racing, or just experiencing some of the beautiful countryside. Ken was fantastic, and the itinerary was well planned out it was nice that we had our own guide that was flexible in how much time we spent at each location. Ken was very accommodating and served as our personal photographer too. It was a truly unforgettable experience, and we would definitely go on another tour with Prime Horse Tours in the future.

My husband and I scheduled a private tour with Ken and Joyce of Prime Horse Tours while we were visiting Lexington, KY for a mini-vacation. We chose to tour Keeneland Race Course and Old Friends Farm. Eventhough, it was off-season, we were still able to see most of Keeneland, but we just weren't able to see the horses working out/training. It was a very informative and interesting tour. It was about 3.5 hours and a reasonable price. Our tour guides were both very knowledgeable and shared many stories. We met at our first location, and then Ken and Joyce drove with us to our next location and back. It was great getting to know Ken and Joyce. This was the best way to get a personalized tour at your own pace. Highly recommend contacting Prime Horse Tours for a private tour of some of the Horse Attractions in Lexington for couples or small groups.
