I had an extremely disturbing and frightening experience at this Motel 6. Around 3–4 AM, complete strangers were somehow able to OPEN THE DOOR TO MY MOTEL ROOM. They then began knocking and banging on the door, insisting that it was their room.Imagine waking up in the middle of the night to random people entering the room where you are sleeping. I genuinely feared for my safety. This was one of the scariest experiences I have ever had at a hotel. There is absolutely no excuse for another guest being given access to an occupied room, whether it was a key-card error, a room-assignment mistake, or some other security failure. Guests should be able to sleep knowing their room is secure.Management needs to seriously investigate how this happened and make sure it can NEVER happen again. A hotel room is supposed to feel safe and private. After this experience, I completely lost that sense of security. I would not feel comfortable staying here again.

We are an older couple and we have been renting a Motel Room at this location off and on for the past 3 years. We've never had an issue until yesterday. We were in the process of checking out, Ignacia gave us a late check out. However the main Housekeeper, kept coming back and knocking on the door 3 different times within a 25 minute period of time, harassing us while we were packing up! I tried to let her know, that I had already talked to the Office. She rolled her eyes and said no English and proceeded to yell at me in Spanish. I told her I was going to call the office again and talk to them. When I called the Office I explained what happened and she said, so what is the problem and I said I don't know Housekeeping keeps coming back and yelling at us. Ignacia said I don't have a problem with you, she said just try to hurry up and check out as quickly as possible. I explained to her that we were. About 5 minutes later Housekeeping comes back, I told her that I had already talked to the Office and that we were in the process of checking out. She started yelling at me and threatening to call the Police. We checked out and made a new reservation for last night because my Boyfriend had just gotten paid. When we showed up, we were told that Housekeeping said we were rude to them and that they cannot rent rooms to us any longer. We had to go somewhere else. The Housekeeper lied, we are NEVER rude or disrespectful. We're appalled over the way we were treated yesterday. I am 57 and my Husband is 77. The way we were treated is considered elder abuse, we spoke with our attorney and we can file a lawsuit, if we choose to do so!The property Address:Motel 66117 Paseo Del Norte, Carlsbad, CA 92011

The location is perfect for Legoland, The Flower Fields, and other places to visit in the area. We tried to save a little bit by staying here but this was a regretful decision. The room smelled like old mop water. I Clorox-d wiped all the surfaces & handles and all the wipes were visibly dirty. Mind you, this was not a deep clean whatsoever. The hotel itself is in need of serious updates. The shower is old enough to have rust and peeling surfaces which can harbor mold & other bacteria. The paint job in the room is haphazard and looks like a child did it. Even though we stayed in a non-smoking room, we must have been by the smoking rooms because we could smell cigarettes the whole stay. The walls and window are paper thin so you hear & smell EVERYTHING. The mattress & pillows are the lowest quality out there. Older hotel buildings can be great but this was dirty and no care is spent trying to make the few updates actual improvements. Upgrades can be inexpensive & done well with the right knowledge and experience. I fully understand that housekeeping is limited in time but old mop water or rags used to clean is unacceptable & harmful. Even with the low cost of stays, there has to be enough budget to make real improvements or hire another staff member for better cleaning. Again, I want to make it clear, our expectation was low due to the other bad reviews and low cost of staying. However, the lack of cleanliness and haphazard maintenance is the dealbreaker. This is example of the experience of families/people that are on a tight budget have to deal with. Inexpensive should not mean unsanitary.

Terrible attitudes and lies by management. Nothing works in the rooms and drug dealers are doing business in the parking lot.

Motel 6 was fine. Stayed 3 nights with a small dog. Had no issues and felt the area was safe. The room was clean/ no bugs. The location was close to the FlowerFields which I came to see. Freeway was close and several restaurants. LoveWindmill Food Court, Rubys Diner and Corner Bakery very close. I do think the bathroomshould be remodeled but we had a king bed Coffee was ok from 6-10am. Not fancy but great location. Bring your own shampoo and extra bar of soap Easy freeway access. I would stay there again because if the location
