tripadvisorI went to Patio Playhouse to see a show that was being put on by kids ages 8 to 16. It was the Disney Play, Mulan, and it was very entertaining. the theater is small, cozy, and you can see everything very easily.
MoreConsistently produces excellent theater at great prices (Tickets are less than $20). The play selection has a wide variety and they feature excellent performances.
MoreAn LOL kind of play. Very enjoyable. The story line relates to every married couple. The venue was small but intimate. I liked it very much. I am able to see actors' facial expressions which added to the success of the play.
MorePatio Playhouse provides delightfully entertaining, surprisingly professional, theater. Your can enjoy a restful evening out after a full-day of vacation activities. No pushy groups, no long lines. Just a nice relaxed group of people, calmly attending a good show for a reasonable price. We live in Escondido and have enjoyed many, many, many of Patio’s offerings, 1986 - present. The last show we saw was “The Tempest” (Shakespeare) and before that, “The Foreigner” (two-act, Off-Broadway, award-winning comedy.) This group has provided North County with live theater for more than 45 years. Well known, they draw from the very best talent, both established and new, in the area. Most of the year, productions are at Patio Playhouse, located in downtown Escondido. In late summer Patio participates in a Plays-in-the-Park series held at our city’s outdoor Kit Carson Amphitheater. They give the audience classic Broadway musicals. Some have been: The King and I, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Godspell, City of Angels, Anything Goes.
