tripadvisorWe loved every minute of our stay at the wonderful Delamar Hotel in West Hartford. We were attending a wedding at the hotel and they did a fantastic job in every aspect. Valet, Front Desk, Housekeeping, Restaurant staff were all well trained, friendly and professional. We especially enjoyed the amazing breakfast buffet each morning of our stay.
MoreBeautiful hotel in a lovely location within walking distance to shopping and dining options. Our terrace room was comfortable with a generous sized bathroom and bedroom. The bed was comfortable and the room had everything we needed. Lovely breakfast buffet each morning and delicious food from the restaurant in the hotel. The Delamar has many spots to mingle in the lobby comfortably, provides endless coffee, and beautiful art on the walls. The rooms and hotel were very clean and the service was excellent. Complimentary valet parking is offered at this hotel for guests (less tipping) which was convenient and efficient. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating as well. This was an excellent experience; Thank you Delamar of West Hartford
MoreGorgeous hotel and wonderful stay! Included breakfast was delicious. I had booked two nights and forgot to change to one when my plans changed, and the manager called me back immediately and refunded me. He was kind, flexible, and understanding. Highly recommend.
MoreLove this hotel. All around excellent. Restaurant excellent. Service excellent. Room experience excellent. Staff excellent. Valets excellent.
MoreThe location of this hotel is absolutely perfect. I chose it specifically for its proximity to the city center, my family, and Whole Foods. Externally, the property looks nice, and the lobby is quite appealing. However, at over $600 per night, the overall experience fell far short of the value expected at this price point. The primary issue was the service, beginning with a very welcoming? check-in experience that set the wrong tone--hauteur--for the stay. For the most part, the front desk staff lacked warmth, displaying an indifferent attitude that made simple questions feel like an inconvenience. While there were one or two genuinely friendly agents, a high-end hotel cannot rely on a few staff members' good days to carry its customer service.Breakfast--the included continental breakfast was also a disappointment. It was highly marginal in terms of quality, selection, and service. At this premium rate, guests should reasonably expect elevated options, such as a chef preparing fresh omelets, rather than a basic continental setup. It feels as though the hotel commands these high rates simply because they are the only game in town for the area. Realistically, given the standard of service and amenities, the experience felt closer to a $300-per-night property. On a positive note, the outside security staff was incredibly helpful, and the complimentary beverage area was excellent. In fact, the coffee, milk, and hot chocolate there were wonderful—and significantly better than what was offered at the breakfast restaurant. While the location is unbeatable, the hospitality and amenities desperately need to be upgraded to match the luxury price tag.
