Boston Avenue United Methodist Church Methodist Church

An exemplary edifice embodying stunning nuances of Art Deco architecture, this futuristic-looking church is nestled in downtown Tulsa. The church has been fashioned from a melange of materials, while its imposing tower soars high to punctuate the city's skyline. Its fabric and visage chiseled with careful precision and finesse, this church is a striking canopy of contemporary and bold architecture, making it one of the significant landmarks of the country. We stopped to visit to see the beautiful architecture. There were signs asking visitors to check in, and we were greeted by two very friendly women. We started to look around and ran into the pastor who was also extremely welcoming and helpful. The church is lovely, and the art deco design runs through everything you can see: doors, stained glass windows, banisters, exit signs, and of course the larger focal points. The sanctuary is beautiful and no matter where you sit, you feel drawn in. Enjoy your visit!

We often visit churches when we travel, most often Catholic, so it was nice to visit a church of a different denomination. This church is particularly beautiful, and the information desk staff is very friendly and helpful. I am not an architectural buff, but it is hard not to appreciate the art deco style of this building. The pink and rose hues in the interior of the church are nice and different. The sanctuary is quite different from what we see in Catholic churches, but the design and decor, especially the ceiling, create a reverential spot for worship. This church is well worth visiting, especially since it is free.

We visited this church on May 31. There is ample parking at the church and it is free. When we visited this Art Deco church we were alone. This church is a beautiful example of Art Deco. With the booklet that you can obtain at the information desk, you can go on a journey of discovery yourself and admire the beauty. A must visit for art and architecture lovers.

I have been by this church many times and the outside is awesome. We finally took the time to go inside and it is equally impressive. Beautiful Art Deco structure. Every bit of it is gorgeous. And wonderful that it was designed by a woman (although apparently there is controversy and she doesn't always get credit -- figures.). But this is so impressive and I encourge you to take the time to go inside.
