I just want to leave a review specifically for the lifeguard who saved my life. I truly believe I’ll never forget her face, as I thought I wasn’t going to make it out of the current at the end of the first big chute. I don’t consider myself a weak swimmer, but in that moment I had forgotten everything I had ever learned about fighting against it and how to get out of it. There was a gentleman that threw a tube to me and I wasn’t able to grab hold of it before I got sucked back down. I have never been so grateful for something or someone my whole life. Truly will never go down the chute without a life jacket again, I feel like that should be a rule. The rest of the float was a beautiful and fun experience. Highly recommend Landa River Trips, from start to finish they were so kind, especially the shuttle bus driver! Have fun and be safe!

I love swimming, love water and i enjoy swimming with scenery. This is why it is so panful for me to say i will NEVER EVER enter this river again! All the times i have went, the whirlpool knocks you off the floaty, life jackets rip off of you. Dead bodies monthly are against the wall of the shoot. Last time i went down it i got glass shoved into my foot and had a spreading infection. Not to mention, the lifeguards sit there and watch you drown, also parking enforcement and you get a charge for even touching the water. They really work and enforce rules whenever they feel like it, this river is a joke, Water hasnt been clear in years, try dark green with millions of pipes and broken glass at the bottom! Not to mention sharp crab shells everywhere, area does NOT get cleaned. Called the river operator and she disagrees with everything i told her! She can disagree all she wants but safety and liability will not be taken from anybody, just be aware.

We stopped by on a June summer day to check out the river. The recent rains had enough water for the flow to be moving a gentle rate making it very nice for the tubers.Parking was enough enough. There were some people along the banks and floating the river but not a crazy amount. All was nice, sane and calm.

Returned with my kids this year to find out that they no longer allow double tubes. I was informed it was for safety on the chutes, which is a load of garbage as single tubes flip may easier than doubles. We lost 2 coolers and a phone and had to rescue our own kids when several of our tubes flipped on the first chute. Why? Well, because single tubes flip easily, especially in crowds of people. This used to be our favorite river to float. Whatever idiot decided it was a good idea to ban double tubes needs to find a more suitable job.

I've been coming here my whole life, and never could've imagined the amount of people that were there this weekend. I wanted to take my kids on their 1st float. We waited for an hour for the shuttle bus to pick us up, and I thought we were gonna jump right in when they got us to the spot.....nope. There was a line about 3 times as long as the one we were just in! The company was generous enough to give us a full refund, very thankful for that! I have never seen so many people on the comal, you could barely see the water. The tube rental manager told me the last 2 weeks of July are the busiest of the year. If you get anxiety from huge crowds like I do, you may want to think twice about floating around this time of year. Totally unreal.
