Whale watching has long been something I’ve wanted to do and while our late February trip was too early to sail from Anacortes, I was very happy to see options from Everett were available. We went on the morning 3 hour tour on February 27th. It was a beautiful day but I’m so glad I took the advice on their website to bring gloves etc as it was significantly cooler on the water! I was very impressed with the capacity restrictions and other measures in place! The full crew was great and did a wonderful job pointing out what we were seeing and sharing all of their whale knowledge. On our tour we saw both sea lions and harbor seals, along with many different types of birds. The scenery too was gorgeous and the water was like glass in some areas. We were so fortunate to be the first sailing to spot and see a whale! Little Patch the whale visited the surface many times, showing off this tail and blow spout. It was very neat to experience! I highly recommend Island Adventures and personally hope to return to Seattle and sail with them again from Anacortes!

We are experienced wildlife watchers, having seen grizzlies and wolves in yellowstone, traveled to Belize and the Bahamas for snorkeling and monkey and bird watching and spotted mountain lions and black bears within an hour of our home. But This was an incredible day of apex predator watching. Because we’d previously ( and unsuccessfully) tried a whale watching trip in BarHarbor, Maine, we had low expectations. Boy were we wrong. The boat was very clean, the staff friendly and courteous, and the naturalist was very knowledgeable, informative, and funny(assuming you like what he admitted were dumb jokes). We saw a pod of at least 5 orcas, watched them chase and batter a stellar sea lion for over an hour and listened to an educational discourse on Orca family life, hunting behavior and even commentary on the specific pod we were watching. The whole experience was over the top and once in a lifetime!! They said it was the best ( and last) tour of the year, and also said they have 97% success rate at spotting whales. We would definitely do it again!

Our little group of 5 (ages 3 - 63) left the dock in Port Angeles on a beautiful, clear, calm Northwest day. Captain Scott was friendly and engaging -- especially with 8-year-old grandson. Naturalist Renee really knew her stuff. Wish we could have heard a little better, but we weren't shy about asking her to repeat. Crew member Bergen was quick with the smile -- and the galley food! We only had to travel about 30 minutes before we found humpback whales. Then more and more and more -- seemed like they were all around us and waiting for us to find them! Were we lucky to find so many or did the crew know exactly how to find so many whales? Maybe a little of both. I'd use this company again in a nano-second!

Great tour - we saw at least a half dozen humpback whales in addition to other wildlife. Super friendly and knowledgeable crew and great value.
