Great for families! We had a fun time doing the scavenger hunts and puppet show. The quiet spiritual movies and Christus were calming and healing for the soul.

We were visiting Idaho Falls and decided on a whim to check out the temple grounds. When we entered the visitors center, we were warmly greeted and welcomed by several church members. They were available to answer questions and were not pushy or invasive at all. We explored the beautiful gardens outside and everyone we came across was friendly and respectful.

I had extra time before catching a flight at IDA so I decided to stop by the Idaho Falls temple. I am glad I did. The building is gleaming white and set in a small but very nice garden of flowers, grass, and trees. Non-members are not permitted inside, of course, and the visitors center was a bit creepy, in that timeshare presentation sorta way. I quickly left the visitors center and hung out in the very pleasant gardens. The men were all wearing sharp-looking, well-tailored suits, stylish shirts, and ties, but the women were virtually all wearing very drab, long dresses, and loose-fitting sweaters. Women are clearly expected to observe a very different standard of modesty than the men are. This, sadly, was not a surprise, if you know much about conservative religious traditions. Nonetheless, I was happy to see one of the older, well-designed, temple exteriors set in a pleasant garden and surrounded by a neighborhood, rather than being surrounded by acres of parking, as is the case with many of the more recent temples. This temple felt like a good neighbor in Idaho Falls.
