tripadvisorHave been coming here for twenty years and enriched as a result. On occasion, they push too hard to be cutting edge but the overwhelming majority of the shows are excellent. Shrew versus Taming of the Shrew was witty and clever. Plus the cast seemed like they were having a blast and there were heartfelt emotions on the opening night. Keep more fine plays coming our way.
MoreWent to S. Coast Rep after coming home from NY and leaving a Broadway play because it was terrible. In contrast to my Broadway experience, the show at the Rep was great and the venue much better than the Broadway location.
MoreI have been attending plays as SCR for well over 20 years and they just keep getting better and better. The acting is fantastic and the sets are very clever and well done. The plays in the little theatre are great too with a real intimate feel. Just a note: you can't start the Christmas season without seeing the Christmas Carol. Hal Landon and cast do a great job and convey a real feeling of Christmas.
MoreFull disclosure: I have worked at SCR for year, but that is because it is a Tony Award winning theater that does consistently excellent work. With an emphasis on new works, SCR always delivers professional, thought-provoking theater.
MoreI have seen a few plays here but my favorite by far is A Christmas Carol. Although I was not sitting at the front I was still able to hear and understand the play perfectly. It stuck to the book which I had recently read with my class at school.
