Overall, it was a decent stay with a few highs and lows. The beds were firm but surprisingly comfortable, and there was a decent selection of pillows, so getting a good night’s sleep was easy.The hotel has recently been renovated, but it definitely feels like a work in progress. The bathroom in particular seemed older and could use some updating. There was also an unpleasant odor coming from the A/C unit, and unfortunately, even the bed sheets had a bit of a weird smell.Housekeeping was probably the biggest miss. They emptied the garbage and brought fresh towels, but left garbage on the floors and didn’t properly remake the beds—they were more “pulled up” than actually made.One bright spot: I accidentally left something behind, and the hotel called to let me know, which I really appreciated!

The location is amazing. It’s 15 minutes from huntington beach, with so many cool places around that are easily accessible with a short drive. Like it being 30 minutes from Knott’s berry farm! The atmosphere is very homey and comfortable and the STAFF. They are amazing, they went above and beyond to give us a comfortable environment with even fixing one of the lightbulbs that was flickering. They have a great free breakfast ensemble and are very friendly and welcoming. The price of the room is very reasonable as the room itself is also very spacious with a large mini fridge, microwave, and TV. The beds are comfortable and clean and everything else was clean as well with nice hard floors. The only downside being if you’re on the bottom floor you might here people above you but that is to be expected. Highly recommend best western surf city for your stay!!!

We stayed at your hotel on a friday. We booked through the reservation line that gets transferred from your hotel when no answers and booked two rooms. We were already driving to California when we were making the reservation, as well. The reservationist confirmed three times on the phone with me that both are rooms TOTAL not each were $281 for the night.When we arrived to the hotel it was already late and we had traveled with our family for the second room. The front desk employees name was Matthew and was very rude and unprofessional towards us. He laughed and said no you are wrong both rooms are $281 each and that the reservation system lied to us. We were not happy with their demeanor as we were told and confirmed 3 times that it was $281 total for both rooms.It was late at night and we were all very tired and checked in. Once we entered both rooms it smelled awful. One room smelled like urine and the other room smelled like sewage. The sheets were stained with black and we took pictures. We went back to the front desk and Matthew told us there is nothing he can do about any of it. He stated the manager would be in at 8am tomorrowThe second room was paid for by my family we were staying with. The front desk refunded them and refused to refund our room. I explained this was a family trip and we didn’t want to split up and Matthew refused to refund our room. This makes no sense. We tried calling customer relations after this interaction and the agent on there was very rude and wouldn’t let me finish explaining our experience, constantly interrupted me, telling me she is corporate, and telling me that all she could offer was reward points. I tried to explain to her this doesn’t help me with night stay and being able to stay with my family. The call got disconnected and she stated all she could do was upgrade my rewards and it ended.Once we checked out in the morning I asked the lady at the front desk to speak to the manager. This was around 9am. She told me there is none and to email the front desk. Every interaction I had with your front desk was rude, didn’t treated us not like a guest, and was wrong information. I tried to explain to the lady at the front desk in the morning and she told me don’t book through the reservation line, you need to call us, they are always wrong. I did call the hotel and it transfers automatically when no one answers.The service and unprofessionalism from the staff is not acceptable. No one tried to help resolve and at least say sorry.I have already made a ticket that was sent to your hotel through corporate. TheFrom every experience to booking, resolving, and trying to speak to the manager no one helped us. This is unacceptable for a customer service business. We wanted to have a nice stay with our family and this ruined the whole experience.Now the manager is refusing to respond or provide contact information to discuss our stay and told customer relations they will not provide contact info. Can’t believe this hotel and lack of customer service

The stay was so nice. My friend has cancer and she likes to take stairs for exercise. We are staying on the second floor and they were just very helpful and sincerely concerned that we had everything we needed.

Everything about the stay was just as expected, the room was clean, it was unusually cold and windy in the area with strong winter weather for HB. There was no comforter, or even one of those fuzzy blankets so to stay warm so we put the heater on 72. When I was there, it was pretty quiet, with the occasional outside voices or bumping noise. It was pretty safe, we had the door double bolted. There was some dude in the morning walking his two large dogs in the hall who greeted me like he belonged there, he took the opportunity to get coffee after I did, as if he were a guest. After I left the lobby I heard the manager yell for him to get out and after seeing him walking around the area later, ai guessed he was probably local riffraff, which was a little disconcerting. But the manager did his job and there were plenty of workers around just in case. Check out is at eleven, so at 10:30, I got a polite call asking if I planned to stay again to which I said, no thanks, I will be leaving at 10:45, which I did. So that’s that, an inexpensive and easy option if you just need a place to sleep, as we didn’t even get in until about 8:30 pm.
