Founded in 1952 as a 26-bed inpatient facility, with outpatient and community education services, Philhaven has expanded into a full-service health care provider for patients of all ages. It is a nonprofit behavioral health care facility offering a wide range of services for children, adolescents, adults and seniors in south central Pennsylvania. Philhaven is an agency of the Lancaster Conference of Mennonite Churches. The facility offers a variety of psychiatric, psychological, counseling and nursing services for individuals and families. Philhaven also offers educational services to the community, including programs on anxiety, depression, family relationships, stress management, teamwork, and drug and alcohol issues. It offers an APA-approved internship program and educational services to psychologists, psychiatrists, ministers and clerical staff. Philhaven also offers special services to promote growth of mental health of women. It has center locations in Mount Gretna, Lancaster, Ephrata, York and Harrisburg, Pa.
