Stayed about a week in mid-October 2026 while our home nearby was under repair, choosing this hotel to support a neighborhood business. The renovation looks nice, but the service is nowhere near the standard you'd expect. Housekeeping was consistently poor: the shower was never properly cleaned, bathroom towel sets went missing, and one day housekeeping didn't come at all — we returned at night to an unmade bed, an untouched bathroom, and used towels still piled on the floor. When I asked to change rooms, I was told there was no availability and handed clean towels instead. The front desk receptionist was rude and unhelpful. To be fair, the rest of the staff were perfectly nice. Disappointing overall. A renovated building can't make up for this level of service. Won't be back.

Beautiful boutique hotel in a terrific location with easy access to beach and all of Newport Beach & Balboa. Wonderful staff.

We enjoyed Bay Shores Hotel so much. The quality and service was amazing. It was so close to the channel and ocean off 18th street. You get amazing service and the service is great too. Within walking distance of all the bars, shops, and restaurants. Hop on a beach cruiser to explore the town fully! It’s an amenity provided by the hotel. The iced coffee and matcha at the hotel’s coffee bar was delicious, nothing but positive experiences here. I highly recommend!

We had a incredible experience at Bayshore’s Peninsula Hotel. An absolutely perfect location with comfortable accommodations. We took the beach cruisers out for the day and it was the highlight of our trip. I can’t wait to come back with the kids.
