Reviews
tripadvisorI did not stay in this dump, my friends had actually reserved it for themselves and said that it was so horrible we had to see it for laughs (and, boy, did we laugh!) the smoke alarm was unwired from the ceiling (exposed wires), the wallpaper was peeling, the deep red carpet was filthy, and there was an ominous, single ugg boot in the top closet from previous guests. the tub and toilet were absolutely horrendous and there was a massive microwave held up by an expandable luggage rack. my friends had checked in at noon and immediately left the room (who wouldn't??). when we all returned later, I encouraged my friends to try to get a refund due to safety concerns of a non-existent smoke alarm and the owners were rude and dismissive. They said that if my friends had decided within 10 mins that there was a problem with the room, they could have gotten a refund. Armed with this knowledge, I can honestly tell you that it will take you about 2 seconds (if that) to determine that sleeping in your car would be a better option. We ended up sharing 2 queen beds with our friends at the Best Western Stovell in Anaheim (an absolute gem with great customer service) , as we could not in good conscious leave them behind at this dump! My friend took pics of everything, this place should be condemned...!!!
MoreThis place is the most disgusting heap I've ever seen/smelled, let alone stayed at. I would have left directly after walking into the room if I hadn't been so tired to the point of feeling like I could fall asleep at the wheel. (This place is indeed better than risking a serious auto accident or death.) We literally considered sleeping in our van in the parking lot instead. We just got between the sheets (which seemed somewhat clean other than one very long black hair) and tried not to touch anything else in the room (Including the stained, nasty bed-spread). Good thing the lights were so dark... I shutter to think what you could see if there was proper lighting! The maroon carpet was dirty, damp, moldy and coming off the floor at parts. The bathroom was dirty with damp/moldy stains on the ceiling. This place is a freaking hazard. After our horrible stay, as I was waiting to check out and get my money back for the key card deposit, the woman who was supposed to be checking me out looked to be doing some sort of religious ritual with a 6-year-old boy. Then after I wait for her to be done with whatever that was, she gets angry at me for asking her to repeat herself because I could not understand her through her extremely thick accent! Never again... I hope this place goes out of business soon and someone who gives a hoot tears this place down and starts a new motel in it's place.
MoreLet me begin by saying you REALLY don't want to touch the floors with your bare feet!! The wall has mold on it from the 1970s a/c unit that is leaking water inside the room. There is virtually no lighting in the room whether it's because the light just doesn't work or the bulbs are so dim that my phone works better than they do! I will commend them for not having bed bugs (surprisingly), but I can only speak for the room that I stayed in. The staff was not nice at all (except the cleaning lady...she was very nice to us). The walk ways upstairs were slick tile that are mopped often and very slippery...which does not help when you barely touch the railing and it moves so much that your life flashes before your eyes!! And we could have done without the overwhelming smell of marijuana for the majority of our stay...which was only one night because it was not worth the horrible cough and sore throat I have after just one night! Please don't stay there!!
MoreThe most VILE and DISTURBING; on several levels; I will explain and analyze, this petri-dish of grotesque INEPT (puke) will receive My 101 percent devotion in this review. After a short time, I decided, to make this (unnecessary) visit* a ALL ABOUT a 'forensic ' discovery. (*) = I was in the immediate area, visiting Dead Family-members, at Fairhaven Cemetery, and was not in a condition to Drive, in Traffic, Home; about 70 miles away. So, I COULD'VE picked another motel but I was mentally-consumed, and 'not feeling right' and, as I was turning, on Grand Ave, towards the 22 Fwy, I saw the CCI. and thought: (expletive) How Bad could it be...?... Well....HERE is the ANSWER(s) to that thought: Under the table, (which is too big for the area, and blocks the A/C) I counted over 20 pieces of chewing gum stuck underneath. The left-Nightstand I counted 17 pieces of Gum! The Ceiling light fixture: INSTALLED BACKWARDS. the bulb faces the window! it affords bad lighting. The other socket was empty. The over sized clumsy table; The table-legs were put-together improperly. they were loose, and installed incorrectly. The toilet seat was not even attached. It was just 'laying on top'. I have installed several new seats, on toilets, over the years. NOT DIFFICULT. The only thing necessary, gloves. The front window, UNLOCKABLE. It just 'slid right open'. WELL...I did go up th the lobby and Say The does not lock, it is inoperable Unsafe & Dangerous what is the purpose? response: (in a garbled-incoherent sounding attempt at English) No, eet ahassa otto mawtk lowkk. ett lawk. no lawk. no lawk dehar. I reinforced: NO, The Latch does not engage, it is broken, does not lock. All someone has to do is remove the screen, and slide it open, Understand? I'm not safe here, and can't leave the room, the way it is. SO...He seeming very put-out, came and put a little locking thing in the slider. (you know, those little hand tightened devices, found in supermarkets) I didn't feel AS bad, but not 'confident in it, And I had no plans on leaving the room, for any lenght. But still...... The drapes:KABEEZLED, not hanging properly and those (Hooks/with pins) installed improperly or missing. The front door, a huge gap, in the frame and latch. Could EASILY be kicked in. The phone: Still said best western civic center inn and was broken. Tested the jack. and it was disconnected. (why Have the it there at all? Decoration? To taught guests? Something to 'steal'? And a justification in keeping a $20 CASH ONLY deposit????) VERY BIZARRE & STRANGE! The TV/Cable: Not working, just the snow channel/no reception AND MISSING REMOTE! (Sigh) another in convedinient trip up to that FILTHY sleezy lobby. I wanted to say THERES NO REMOTE questioning: did they know THAT? I did not want to be blamed for (and charged $20) FOR: The missing remote, The toilet seat, and the missing Iron. (if there ever was one) I saw an ironing-board. ALL THIS: for $65 USD! WHEN...that warped example for a Man (male human-being) came to 'adjust' the cable...He asked me: where is yoo girrfriend? I repled: No Girlfriend He responded: Oh You very unlucky man then. It was semi-sarcastic. When the TV came on: GUESS WHAT? It was the closed-circuit ADULT CHANNEL! Seeing the momentary image, of two morbidly-obese individuals fornicating from a view 'all up-close-and-personal'. Atb that point i felt PHYSICALLY sick. My flesh turned cold, clammy, and my stomach roiled with indescribable revulsion. (that was the only connected to the TV) I did not to watch TV , really. But For sure, now.......I turned it off. and gave up. Took A bath: The tub DID fill up. The hot water INSTANTANIOUS. But.....(just checking, as part of my TRIP ADVISOR forensic review) it drained slower, than it filled. DECOR: mismatched, and HIDEOUS, THe wallpaper border: ripped and pieces were comming un-done. WORST OF ALL: The STENCH AND ACRID thick ODOR of curry-laced food, Cooked 1000x's and the ENTIRE LOBBY was SATURATED by that powerfully strong UNPLEASEANT and RANK foul scent. It really makes the first visit to the 'Front Desk It leaves a very sleezy and TACKY impression, THAT STRENCH, follows all the way down to room #221. I Smelled it ALL NIGHT and into morning, But IT is inescapable. COULD NOT WAIT TILL SUNRISE! I bolted from there so quick, I got my $20USD returned, first he claimed he 'didn't remember, no receipt'. HE DIDN'T ISSUE ONE...but I was waiting for a 'denial/Lie' about it I said: I GAVE YOU A $20 DOLLAR BILL.....REMEMBER????? He mumbled something went into the vestibule momentarily, and returned with (5) $5 bills. I returned the only plastic key (it was dirty too) and once home, I took a LONG shower with anti-bacterial soap. By now, I could laugh: Thinking about the scene in Ace Ventura: Pet Decetive, when ace discovers that Police Chef Lois Einhorn, probably is not an authentic female, but a MALE in disguise, and at one point was kissing 'her'. This expierence HAS INDEED EXACERBATED my P.T.S.D.* Symptoms. (*)= PostTraumaticStressDisorder. Certain events can and DO make my anxiety level SPIKE widly, and I have been know to fully PANIC when an symptom-exacerbation happpens, it if it is that intense!! WOW
MoreBeyond gross! Its disgustingly filthy how this place stays open is beyond me. Its like a place you would find in a scary movie. This place was a bad location, bad hotel, bad service, gross gross gross gross. The ice had stuff frozen in it. We had to Lysol our room, the toilet seat was not attached and the bathtub was not clean. Towels were stained, floor was stained, everything was stained pretty much. And the room hasn't been updated since maybe the 80s. Honestly, I think this business is a front.
