tripadvisorWhile driving through Liberty State Park, we spotted Flag Plaza. Parking lot next to is was free of charge, and we had a walk to it. This place has great views of Lower Manhattan and Statue of Liberty. The statue reminding us of what happened in WW2 was also impressing.
MoreWe recently visited family in upstate New York and we decided to stay a few days later so that we can watch the fireworks show for the first time in New York city. I research the area because I wanted to get the best view possible. Flag Plaza was hands-down the absolute best 4th of July fireworks experience we’ve ever had. There’s nothing more spectacular than to watch the fireworks from Flag Plaza. We were able to see the Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks and right next to those were the New Jersey side firework show. #bucketlist
MoreNice spot in Liberty State Park and great for pictures. Easy to park in the area and walk right over.
More13 American Flags displayed here you can see with the Statue of Liberty in the background. A lot of historic events happened here (including Black Tom explosion which hurt the Statue of Liberty, shooting scenes to movie The Godfather, Regans campagn speeches) but not only. You can come here for a jazz festival or a rock concert. Here you will find free parking right at the Upper Bay where Hudson River connects with the Atlantic. And the view on the New York Lower Manhattan, Elise Island and Statue of Liberty are here magnificent.
