A live one greeted us as we entered the room and a dead one was under the table. It just got worse from there. The morning of the fifth day, my husband reached to pull up his covers and found them completely soaked from a leak over the bed. We went down to the desk to report it and the clerk told us my ceiling leaks, too. We could not move since they were full. There was also no power or backup generator for the rooms. We then went to the Holiday Inn next door. They had generators and told us they would have a room available for us and our cat by 3 PM. We went back and checked out and were told we could extend the checkout time to 3 PM as they had no electricity and could not clean the rooms or do laundry. Around 2:30, while my husband was next door waiting for the room key, two employees came to the door and demanded I leave NOW or be charged for another day. I got them to give me 15 minutes to carry our belongings and cat outdoors in the rain. I vacated the room within that time and stood under an overhang with my clothes and cat until my husband returned. We loaded the car and I left the key at the desk. We were evacuees from Hurricane Florence. This is the compassionate care we received at our last stay at an Econolodge/ Roadway Inn. What a nightmare!!

Clerk at check in was kind, sanitation rating was 99.0%, room was clean and supplied with essentials. There was a nice breakfast in the morning and most of all it was quiet!! I’d stay again or certain. I mean for $60/night you’re not gonna get a 5 star ammenties.

This an Econolodge and Rodeway Inn combined. Since we had Rodeway Inn reservations, we were sent to the building in the back of the property. The room was fair at best. When we went to breakfast there was nothing in the sausage or egg containers. The clerk was notified and about 15 minutes later brought in a few scrambled egg patties and some sausages that did not appear to be fully cooked. I don't think I will stay here in the future.

I’ve been staying here since it was a comfort inn. It has consistently gone down hill with more and more maintenance issues. The final problem I encountered was the AC last night. I will now go across the street and stay at the Qualiry inn. It’s dated but at least stuff is functional.
