tripadvisorConvenient for Disney but not for the stay. First night we were there, we saw a massive roach in our room. It was as big as a 5 year olds hand. Tried reporting it just to find out the phones in the rooms don't work. Went down and luckily the guy that helped was a huge help for it. Asked about the phone situation and they informed us we were supposed to recieve a text when we arrived but I never did. Next morning, we went down to ask about the phone situation just in case we needed to request anything and again I brought up the roach incident that happened. The person in front sent maintenence to our room to make sure there was no more. As someone who works in a hotel/casino back at home, I was expecting some sort of accommodations or at least the courtesy of a room change. None was offered. Because we were 4 people staying and we were trying to make the most of our trip i did not want to cause a scene in front of my children. Will not stay here ever again and as someone who works in hospitality, there is a lot of work that needs to be improved here so please go anywhere else.
MoreThis experience was by far the worst I’ve had with any hotel. I booked the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite for me and my family to stay in. I drove from out of state and paid for early check in and it was approved. When we all arrived they checked us in and gave us our room keys. Upon getting to the room my pregnant fiancé opened the door and discovered people still staying in the room and smoking in it. When we went to the front counter they said they were aware of them in the room and said they were supposed to of checked out yesterday. My family and I ended up getting put into separate rooms that were just regular rooms and not a suite like we had paid for. The manager was very rude and would not discount or refund anything for us besides early check in fee. This totally ruined our trip and definitely left a sour taste in our mouth. The rooms were very run down and had a weird smell to them. I will never book with portofino again and will just spend a little more and go to a better resort.
MoreThe room was big enough. The sofa was not comfortable and we sank in. The beds were ok and bathrooms kinda dirty. I use wet wipe to clean the floor and counters. The floor seemed stained with black stuff..the air conditioner worked well. CVS is next door always a plus. Coffee across the street l..This was are 5th stay. Normally we don’t have issues because our room is in the back of the building. This time we stayed on the separate building and the first fewRooms and the noise level from the street was so terrible that I had to buy ear plugs and it didn’t help. It sounded like cars were doing donuts all night at the stop lights intersection of the street. Basically we were all exhausted my entire trip due to not sleeping much.. if You need rest and a light sleeper don’t stay in the front rooms. Ask for room in the back of the building. Also they charge for parking now. Before 1 car was covered. Not anymore $30 a day. No breakfast. IHOP is across the street..I’d suggest giving customers good quality ear plugs or let customers know before you stay there is noisy in the first few rooms especially with kids. Kids were miserably tired the entire weekend and fussy. Give us an option for a room in the back. Cost for 2bedroom quite in October for 3 days was $1200
Morethe suite room with king bed, sofa sleeper, and single bunk beds with a small fridge and microwave was the perfect setup. For us our AC would not stay on. We actually had 4 rooms total because of our adult children families. Our room was the only one with a problem. We even had electrical issues in bathroom. The electricity in bathroom went out and it was not the GFI that had no power as well. I have replaced many a GFI and am very familiar with electrical. In my opinion the GFI itself is to old and failed needing replacement. Probably has intermittent issues so never gets actually fixed. The 2 sink layout one in shower toilet room and one in living area also very useful. For the price and proximity to Disneyland well worth it.
MoreThere were a couple of times that our trash wasn’t dumped, needed to ask for towels, and heater did not work. Also, I was charged a $211 parking fee that I did not expect. I must have missed it in the fine print. Maybe that should be made more clear. Other than that, it’s a very cute and cozy hotel and staff were very kind and polite. Thank you!
