⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Horsetooth Reservoir is one of the best outdoor recreation spots in Fort Collins, Colorado and truly a gem of Northern Colorado. Located just west of Fort Collins, Horsetooth Reservoir offers boating, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, fishing, hiking, biking, and some of the most beautiful sunset views along the Front Range. The Horsetooth Reservoir trails are well maintained and perfect for hiking, trail running, and mountain biking, with scenic overlooks of the reservoir, the foothills, and the surrounding Rocky Mountain landscape. The Horsetooth Rock area is especially popular for hiking and photography, and the reservoir itself is ideal for boating, paddle boarding, and relaxing along the shoreline. What makes Horsetooth Reservoir special is how accessible it is. You can be in downtown Fort Collins and then at the lake in under 15 minutes. It’s incredibly clean, well managed, and family-friendly, with multiple access points including South Bay, Inlet Bay, Satanka Bay, and Lory State Park nearby. As a Northern Colorado real estate agent who works throughout Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, Timnath, and the surrounding areas, I’m constantly reminded that people don’t just move here for a house, they move here for the lifestyle. Horsetooth Reservoir is absolutely breathtaking - it feels like stepping into a different universe every time I visit. The views are incredible from every angle, whether you’re out on the water, hiking the trails, or just relaxing along the shore. The sunsets over the rocks and water are something you’ll never forget. It’s the perfect spot for kayaking, paddleboarding, or just taking in the peace and beauty Northern Colorado has to offer. Every visit reminds me how lucky we are to live in such a stunning area!As a local real estate agent, I love exploring places like this that showcase what makes our community so special. Very strange and concerning experience here. My wife tried to call the morning of our reservation to clarify some things about parking and vehicle entrance… The woman she spoke to was short and actually hung up on my wife when she was asked to clarify policy. I called back and asked for the woman’s name, she refused. I had a cordial conversation with the woman and was given the information that we needed, the conversation ended well and on a polite note. Shortly thereafter, I was contacted on my personal phone by a park, Ranger (A phone number that was not on any reservations or paperwork the county was in possession of) The Ranger then accused me of placing a hostile phone call to the parks employee. The only hostile thing that happened was the parks employee hanging up on my wife. He proceeded to question me about the call and stated he wanted to make sure there weren’t going to be any problems and that we had not been evicted yet… How can you get evicted when you haven’t even made it to the campground? This was purely an intimidation tactic and made us feel so unwelcome and harassed that we ended up canceling our trip and taking a significant cash loss. I am so disappointed in Larimer County parks employees and their Rangers for blowing a simple phone call so out of proportion, the paying public is scared to come to their campsite. We will never attempt camping here again. I’m also going to be looking into the legality of how this Ranger found my personal phone number and name when we did not provide any of that information on our reservation…BEWARE

Camped at Horsetooth Resevoir campground. Pulled into site, I won't say what number. Thank you last camper with a dog. There is crap every where we go in our site. Thank you to most dog lovers who clean up after their pet. To last camper shame on you. Campground makes you pay 15$ to dump. That's after 40$ per night to camp with only electric. Camping for three years and that's a first for me. Some in the area may love this place and good for you I am glad you like. The rangers and the ranger station employees were top notch. They do not make the rules. To rule makers, I should not have to pay to dump. I should not have to pay extra to shower, that's a joke. Also i could not change campsites from the dog crap campsite because campsite was full. Will never return.

We went to Horsetooth in the South Bay area. We had to pay 45.00 extra on top of the price for camping for 3 nights. When we were ready to leave and went to the dump station, on August 23, 2024, we noticed that they had put new charging machine that charges 15.00 for dumping your water! It was almost 200.00 for 3 nights! This is the last time we go there.
