tripadvisorThis company is one of the few ways to go to Channel Islands National Park. Our ferry ride to the park was exceptional. The employees were friendly and approachable if one had questions. The captain was great at informing passengers of wildlife sightings during the trip. Very enjoyable!
MoreCame here with my family and fiancé to celebrate my birthday, and it was so much fun. The pickup point was at the harbor and the boat ride was only an hour to the islands. It was convenient that the boat had kayaks on board, and they did the set-up for getting the kayaks in the water. The crew was super friendly and very helpful. There is a bathroom on-board. We were able to bring food and drinks on-board, which I’d suggest doing as kayaking can be tiring. Overall, I would recommend using them to explore the Anacapa Island via kayak.
MoreAbout $100 per person to have a 11 hour day filled with memories from on the water to the caves then on land. Heads up if the Ocean is choppy they will cancel and give your money back BUT do you really want to risk your or the crews life. The 2 days before our trip they did have to cancel and even on our day it was a bit rough~ we were good and sat in the back lower deck~ NOT a good IDEA! Apparently, that is the sick bay~ as soon as we got to Santa Cruz and dropped off half of the passengers to the island and we stayed on to go to the painted Cave we MOVED to the second deck. The crew was great accommodating those getting sick and trying to make everyone safe and comfortable. Our tour continued about another half an hour to the painted cave which we were able to enter (depends on tide and swells) beautiful. then on the drive back the captain gave us a lot of history of the island and even slowed down to see the sea life which was very active Sea ions and LOTS of Dolphins. Then they dropped us off at the same location of the first group at prisoners bay at that point the crew let us eat on and multiple places you can sit and eat (picnic tables) then one of the crew MARIA announced that if you wanted to you could sign a waiver and walk with her on the Pelican Bay Trail (which is privately owned) of course you need to do the trail your on a National Park. She took us on a easy hike a little over a mile and explained a lot about the history, plants and the wildlife that calls Santa Cruz home! we were on the island for about 3 hours. Parking is available right at the Island Packers ~ but you do have to pay. Other than a plane ride taking the Island Packers is the only way onto 1 of the 5 different Islands of the Channel Islands NP.
MoreCaptain and crew were spot on with grey and humpback whales sightings! Great trip! Very educational and fun.
MoreMade some goals to visit every Channel Island, and started wit' Anacapa, facilitated through Island Packers.Arrived early on a Saturday morning to watch the sun rise over Oxnard Harbor, with an 8:00am departure for a one-hour trip to the island.Everything was on-point, organized, and efficient, just like Virgos like it, and how it should be when the sea is involved. The island speaks for itself, now as it did for the Chumash centuries ago, but the getting there and back was well-facilitated by Island Packers, and I can't wait for my next trip with them to...wait for it...Santa Cruz Island...
