Small park-spot with great potential. I encourage NYC Parks to give a little more love to this terrain. Hunters Park South design should inspire government officials to truly exploit the beauty of this corner. It is small and off the beaten path, but welcoming to young parents, toddlers and pets. Looking forward to its evolution!

On a sunny day, a great place to lounge and enjoy the sun, the skyline view and the East river. A long pier into the river opens up other angles for the Manhattan view.

The park is a little hidden, so it is never terribly busy. It is a good place to view the skyline at any time of year. The surrounding area is pretty nice too. The bakeries are quite good (Riviera, Joe's, Peter Pan-big donut fans can you tell?).

I happened upon this when arriving to Greenpoint early for a lunch with family. As I walked to the end of the block I happened upon this park. A cute little gem in an otherwise urban area. It was funny to see people sunbathing on the small amount of grass available - generally I am used beaches and more space!

We visited this park regularly whilst staying in Greenpoint. It's a very nice way to start the day, with a coffee and Danish (or something healthier). Or morning routine became to get a coffee & tea plus Danish (We tried Ovenly - but preferred the pastries available at Cafe Riviera on Manhattan Ave), which we would take to the pier at this park. Also a really good place to watch the lights come on. There's always plenty of activity on the East River to watch, in addition to the lovely views of Manhattan, which seems to change the character of it's view by the minute. This park is a nice place to go if you're in the area, but probably not worth a special trip for tourists as there seems to better parks (maybe Hunters Point, although we didn't go there, as it looks good in photos). We didn't see many tourists, plenty of locals & their dogs.
