The Bookman is one of those fabulous used book stores where, whenever I’ve been there, I leave with a box full of excellent books for pennies on the dollar. Feels like Christmas. The owner is almost always onsite and he and his staff are highly knowledgeable about the books they have and other books I might enjoy. If I have a specific book or author in mind I can call ahead, see if they have it in stock and request they pull it and put it aside until I can come to get it.Everything is clean, dust-free, well-organized and easy to find. There is even a little sitting area at the front of the store where I enjoy pursuing my potential purchases before I commit to the final haul.Single story, easy to find, parking lot and street parking with a few restaurants nearby if you’d like a nosh while reading your latest find.Truly a gem of a used bookstore.

This is a great family activity . Selections was easy to find and they have areas for the teens to the toddlers. So many nice used books. It is a book store for everyone. Nice owners also.

In the 2020s, used bookstores are back in vogue. But The Bookman is far ahead of any other bookshop you'll find in Southern California. The selection is vast, covering every imaginable subject, from fiction to self help books to professional texts. This is a great place for a professor, student or hobbyist to visit. It's not only for your stereotypical bibliophile! The Bookman will give customers credit for used books in good condition that they donate. Combined with the relatively low prices to start, this makes for a very affordable purchase. And for the collector, you won't believe some of the antique books you'll find here. In the past year, I bought an original 1900 biography of Chicago evangelist D.L. Moody and the program/songbook for Billy Graham's early crusades in Southern California. Both in excellent condition and for a few dollars. I donated these to the Moody Bible Institute and Billy Graham Library, respectively, and both ministries were so honored to receive these. Goes to show that one man's trash is another's treasure! If you're planning to visit The Bookman, be informed before you go! The store maintains an online inventory (how rare is that for used bookshops!)Hoping The Bookman will be around for generations to come!

Wonderful used book store with lots and lots of titles to choose from on their extensive shelves....a real treasure

Whenever I need a used book, or don't want to pay the new price, or need a textbook thats out of print The Bookman is where I go.
