tripadvisorWe found this place accidentally......oh my, I fell in love and felt like I was in Heaven! My only complaint - I could not talk them into opening another CB in my area!I could have spent much longer in this bookstore than I did.....and I still walked out buying 2 books - neither of which I needed and both of which I have devoured since I got home!
MoreIndependent bookstores are a dwindling breed. It was so exciting to see Chaucer’s still going strong for so many years, as we moved from the area over 20 years ago. There are many local books available, a large young reader section, as well as many stacks of fiction and nonfiction books. We hope that Chaucer’s will be serving Santa Barbara for many years to come.
MoreOnly place in Santa Barbara county to get Sunday New York Times and Wall Street Journal weekend edition. Great book and puzzle selection
MoreMy children and I love hanging out at Chaucer's. It has such a nice warm atmosphere and besides the awesome books, it has cool little gifts, journals, stationery, etc. It is fun to just browse around. If I'm looking for a certain book, I can call and order or put one on hold. We've gotten special signed books as well.
MoreI could easily spend a whole day in this bookstore and still not want to leave. It is not very large and I only saw new books (no used books for sale) - but the selection and organization was nice and well thought out. The store is clean, neat, quiet and offers a place to look at books and contemplate.
