Booked via booking.com; the motel is located to the southern end of Santa Barbara. The motel has a 70’s California beach vibe. The room was a decent sized, however it is very tired and dated; and could do with a bit of investment. Cleanliness was questionable; not to mention a clogged sink, privacy lock on the wrong size of the bathroom door and no shower curtain to the bath. There is no air conditioning… a ceiling fan and 3 stand up fans!The bed was too spongy, but sleepable. There is a pool which is open 10am - 9pm. Breakfast was a selection of prepackaged pastries, coffee and fruits. Had to pay $15 to use the parking - extortionate and should be free.

I was unable to stay at this property because of its condition and ended up forfeiting my nonrefundable reservation. The hotel I encountered looked nothing like the photos presented online.While waiting in line to check in, I was behind another guest who was actually choosing to leave and forfeit their nonrefundable stay because they felt the condition of the property was not as represented. Unfortunately, once I saw my own room, I understood why.The room was extremely dirty and run down. The walls were filthy, there appeared to be mold beneath the bathroom sink, there were multiple haphazardly patched holes in the walls as well as an actual unpatched hole, and the flooring was warped and lifting. The baseboards and surrounding walls were visibly dirty, stained and deteriorated. I’ve included a photo from my room so prospective guests can see the condition for themselves.The condition wasn't limited to the room. The lobby had multiple out-of-order machines and wet towels lying on the floor.This went well beyond a property simply being dated or needing renovation. The online photos did not accurately reflect the condition of the hotel I encountered, and I did not feel the room was in an acceptable condition to stay in.I’m genuinely baffled by the number of reviews describing this property as clean, because that bears no resemblance to what I experienced.

We checked in this week late after helping my daughter move into her new apartment. I missed in the description that there is no AC — only ceiling fans and stand fans. The hotel was updated on the surface with improving insulation or noise proofing, so it was noisy and hot. The worst part though was when my son went to shower, he found the shower head covered in mold. We complained to Expedia who we booked through, and then to the front desk. We did not get any assistance with cancellation but decided to leave because it was so bad.

This hotel has no air conditioning. It was incredibly hot starting mid afternoon throughout the night. Definitely not a place to stay in the summer unless you want to be hot. it’s also fairly rundown.

Hotel in a great position for east beach. The ladies at reception were a bit confused on process who felt odd. The room was dated and not sure I wanted to fire the gas hob up, even if I wanted to.
