Kern Humane Society is an all-volunteer program which began in 1973 to find a way to encourage spay/neuter of pets in Kern County, CA. KHS Thrift Store was created to fund part of the cost of surgery through the financing of vouchers for low income, seniors and others who could not afford to pay the full cost. KHS is not funded by any type of government program.
