tripadvisorWaiting 2 hours now for my 10am reservation- I've missed my appointment. There is a room full of people waiting for cars. I called yesterday to be sure car would be there at 10am and was told it definitely would be. They tell us there is a statewide shortage of cars. So why this huge overbooking!??
MoreI had a terrible experience with Budget at the airport location on March 17–18.I made a reservation in advance, showed up as scheduled, and was told they don’t honor same-day reservations and to come back the next morning. That alone was frustrating, but it got worse. When I returned the next day, they then told me they would not honor my reservation from the day before either and tried to charge me a higher price than what I originally booked. When I asked simple questions about why the price changed, the staff became unprofessional and dismissive.I asked to speak with a manager, and instead of resolving the issue, the manager confirmed they would not honor the original reservation and insisted I pay more. Then, because I continued asking questions, they refused to rent me a car at all.To make matters worse, when my partner tried to help communicate, they refused to speak with them and said they would only talk to the person on the reservation—while at the same time refusing to help me.This was one of the most unprofessional customer service experiences I’ve had. No accountability, no clear explanation, and no effort to resolve the issue.I would strongly recommend going with another rental company. This location clearly does not respect reservations or customers’ time.
MoreThis review is for the Budget at New Orleans Louis Armstrong Airport which does not have a listed location. When booking this reservation through AARP i booked a Genesis G70 or similar. After booking the confirmation came back as a Chrysler 300 or better. (Bait and switch). I mentioned this to customer service rep who stated these were similar (not close). I mentioned why didn't the confirmation state the Gensis or similar which was what I chose so after a heated but polite conversation they did upgrade me to the Gensis level which was a Mercedes SUV.Upon returning the vehicle at 4AM we unloaded and headed to the airport ( a 20 min ride there) and getting through TSA and about to board a 6AM flight i realized I left behind my 85+ Mom's handicap placard. When trying to contact them through customer service (no local number provided) all they said was can you go back to the vehicle)? Yeah right - another 20 something ride back plus trying to get back through TSA and not miss my flight. You MUST fill out a lost & found report online!!! Why couldn't I just speak to the local rental agency to inform them the vehicle is had just left and to ask them to forward it to my house? Needless to say I got a confirmation the lost/found report was submitted BUT 5 days later and I have heard no more about left behind handicap placard. These days companies NO longer care about constituents only making dollars. There is no more customer service! After the aforementioned senior citizen bait and switch AND bad customer service Budget Rental is no longer part of my vocabulary!!!
MoreMe and my partner were visiting New Orleans to celebrate his birthday. On April 1st we decided to drive around and rented a car on Budget. We reserved a pickup truck online and when we got to the rental place, they never had the car, instead they gave us a small size hybrid car. which is a lot cheaper online but still they charged us the pickup truck price. The guy there didn't even explain anything. We just let it go because we don't want to ruin our day. When we got the car, it was smell like cigarettes. We literally used the car for 5 hours because we couldn't take the smell of the car. When we were returning it, we couldn't refill the gas because the gas chamber was broken and not opening. We had no choice just to drop the car back. They were closed when we returned it. We paid the car for 24 hours, but we returned it after 5 hours. I called the customer service for the poor experience, and they would not bother to help, and they were so rude. They ended up charging my card triple. And literally the worse part of our trip. This place is a SCAM.
MoreWe reserved two months in advance a Mustang Convertible for a one day rental. We were going to be driving for 5 hours and wanted the comfort and a convertible. When we showed up for our rental, we were told the only car they had available (8:30 am) was a Chevy Malibu. The staff was rude and matter of fact that we weren't getting what we reserved. We are never using Budget again.
