tripadvisorVery knowledgeable drivers. Loved listening to the history of Dan Antonio and seeing the sights
MoreStaff was extremely unorganized and rude. We were at the initial pick up location early, but the girl in charge of checking us in for the tour was late and unorganized. She didn't have all of the tickets that we needed. Driver didn't want to wait 10 minutes for her to finish checking us in (even though we were early and it wasn't our fault) and kept trying to leave without us (which would have left us waiting another hour for the next trolley). Once on the trolley, the driver was rude and abrasive. He would get angry and scold people if anyone made any noise during his commentary. He wanted complete silence during the drive. Not good with children whatsoever.
MoreI took my children and grandchildren on one of these it was both a very nice and learned things about our great city
MoreI’d booked a Grand Trolley Tour which gives you the option to do a 60 minute tour or a hop on/hop off day pass. I choose the 60 minute tour which included the missions. I only booked it the day beforehand so you can imagine my surprise when I got there and the staff told me they were putting me on a double decker hop on/hop off bus. Nobody explained why until I asked the driver, Jenny, who was lovely. The trolley had broken down a few days previously and so they were upgrading everyone to the double decker bus tour which covers 20 attractions instead of 8 except the missions weren’t included, then they further upgraded me to hop on/hop off. Their website really should have stated that the trolley was broken. The hopper pass is a few dollars more than my tour originally was and I did use the feature since I had it (it saved me a bus fare) but I wouldn’t have chosen to buy it and their 50 minute tour is only $12 instead of the $25 I paid for the trolley! At no point was I offered the option to be refunded the difference and just do the single 50 minute tour. I didn’t know any of this until later in the day! The tour itself was interesting. Jenny was a fantastic guide, I actually got her twice, and she knew her facts really well. We learnt a little about the history of the city and the historic/noteworthy buildings around the city. The bus only ran every 45 minutes and the last one ended at about 4-5pm so it wasn’t ideal for getting around to multiple sights which is why I never bother getting the hopper pass. I was still annoyed I didn’t get to see the missions though as that was one of the key things I wanted to see and paid for!
MoreThe trolleys are a reliable way to get out of having to drive and find parking in the downtown area. Tickets are inexpensive and can be purchased online before you arrive. The steps onto the trolleys were too high for me but it turns out the steps flip out to make a ramp when needed.
