We came here on a Saturday and spent time relaxing, watching a local baseball game. There are BBQs available if you fancy some outdoor cooking.

Large park with lovely trees, perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of the city and great place to people and dog watch.

The recently refurbished soccer field and athletic track are excellent and not too busy. The pro in general is a great community area, we love in particular the farmer market, but enjoying the grass on a summer day is also sublime

McCarren Park may not be as large or famous as Prospect Park or Central Park but it offers everything one could ask for as a nearby resident. Running tracks, baseball fields, a large kids playground, a large outdoor pool, tennis and soccer field, this is a perfect place to do sports or just a picnic and BBQ.

Here's an idea for you on a weekend (or weekday) morning. Grab a bagel sandwich from the nearby Frankel's Delicatessen and head to McCarren Park. There are benches in the shade or in the sun. Soak up the outdoor surroundings, watch the people go by, enjoy your food, then take a walk on the paths in the park and burn off some calories. A perfect morning!
