This urban pathway winds it's way through residential neighborhoods, the Eastern Market and the Riverfront area. Below street level and almost a mile and a half long, the Dequindre Cut Greenway is known for its urban graffiti artwork and unique sights along the way. The pathway is paved spanning 20 feet across with separate areas for both bikers and pedestrians. Entrance ramps down to the pathway can be found Gratiot Avenue, Woodbridge Street and Lafayette Street. Benches, stretches of grass and even street performers can be found along the way.

tripadvisorBe careful, I got mugged there at 10:00AM on Saturday 6/14/25. Was almost killed, spent 4 days in ER, EMS took me to Detroit Receiving ER, that experience was as bad as getting mugged. Detroit you've got a long wat to go!!
MoreA very interesting way to see a hidden and forgotten part of Detroit. Take some water, a good pair of shoes and do the walk. Worth your time.
MoreAwesome time biking this trail. Everything was clean and safe and the people we met were friendly. We parked near Eastern Market and took the trail to the river then kept on to Bell Isle. Fine time!
MoreWe walked a bit on the Riverfront last weekend and then wandered over to the Dequindre Cut. It just happened to be a Harvest Festival which brought bands, lots of people (many dressed up for Halloween), and food truck after food truck. I was so happy we decided to check it out. It was such a fun experience! We walked less than half of it, but I am looking forward to going again. It's a perfect place to get in a 4 mile walk, starting, or ending, at either the Riverfront or Eastern Market, two fabulous places.
MoreWe were there on a gorgeous Saturday and loved seeing everyone out walking, biking, etc. One fo my favorite things to do when visiting a city is to get out and walk. The Cut was the perfect place. We started at the Riverfront (parking at Cullen plaza, walking to harbor, and crossing Atwater) and walked about a mile along the cut, passing murals along the way. Many others were out enjoying the day - walkers, bikers, skateboarders. Lovely way to spend the afternoon and get exercise in too.
