tripadvisortook a tour of the house on Sunday, beautiful, the whole farm is wonderful our guide Michael was very knowlegeable and gave us a great tour, the grounds are lovely to walk around, can just picture the people here 200 years ago
MoreI did not know too much about John Jay but thanks to our tour guide Mark we got to learn a lot. The entire site was in great shape and Mark was informative and engaging with our teenage daughter.
MoreReally nice for all the history buffs. John Jay Homestead gave you a feeling of stepping back in time. Great for American history and beautiful countryside.
MoreWe arrived when there was nobody available to do a tour so we did not go inside. But, we had a lovely time wandering the grounds, seeing the out buildings and the gardens. All of these had signs with information. Short and sweet visit to glance into the life of a real American trendsetter.
MoreBeautifully preserved and giving a real sense of what life was like for the upper crust in the 18th century. My friend from England found the comparison with their grand houses of the same period particularly interesting. Honestly, I’m not sure if small children would find it at all interesting, but for history buffs, terrific.
