Tango Dance Classes & Events. Tango classes for beginners, online class options, private lessons, and more! The 8th Style School of Tango started out in Seattle in 2006 as a two part experiment: to see if it was possible to create a curriculum that would enable a wide range of Tango dancers to be their best, unique selves on the dancefloor; and to test the efficacy of peer-to-peer teaching in Tango. The results were extraordinary: over the next several years a team of dedicated Tango teachers developed a program for learning Tango that produced countless excellent dancers all with their own unique style, and it was discovered that advanced beginners would consistently outperform more seasoned teachers in terms of student retention and instilling a lasting passion for Tango. The school continues to evolve to this day, now based in New Mexico, offering regular group classes in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Taos, and online drills sessions eight times a week, frequented by Tango dancers from the U.S., Europe and even Buenos Aires.
