Kit Carson Electric Co-Op was recognized with the Pinon Award by Quality New Mexico and its New Mexico Quality Awards program. The company is an electric cooperative that has served northern rural New Mexico since 1934. Kit Carson s service area includes Tao, Colfax and Rio Arriba counties in New Mexico. The electric cooperative is comprised of three divisions that offer its members an array of different services. Along with electrical services, Kit Carson also provides propane, lighting, telecommunications and Internet services. Additionally, the company offers northern New Mexican an opportunity to choose pollution-free, renewable wind generated electricity. Wind power is available from the cooperative in 100 kilowatt blocks throughout its Green Power program.
