Excellent interlude from our busy life. Most informative, interesting and very educational. Worth being a member or just make a date to go.

Today I went to the Walk & Talk/Spendid exhibition at the TJC. This is my first time there and I had a most enjoyable experience. A courtesy bus with a most gracious driver met guests outside the Pullman Hotel and took us to the mansion. There we were given tea/ coffee and information of the house and tour. Under the guidance of curator Andrew Dixon who possess excellent knowledge of the mansion and the Splendid Collection I came away most impressed with this beautiful place in my own city.

I was so moved by the exhibit. The staff was very accommodating and explainrd each painting in detail with so much passion and appreciation for the artistry. You MUST attend. Pictures attached but going in person is priceless.

Small private gallery/museum showing special exhibits to the public. Check program for current exhibits. Very nice but small exhibits spaces.

This was my first visit to the Johnson Gallery on Main Street. It is a private collection of art. I heard in the local media there was an exhibit by a SC artist-Leo Twiggs entitiled Requiem for Mother Emanuel. I live about 40 minutes away but this gallery was well worth the drive. We learned several details from the curator on duty. The paintings are on batik. The artist says the exhibit 'captures humanity in the midst of horror.' Highly recommend. Exhibit closes in early October. Only open Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 1-5 pm.Site would not let me upload a photo. Go see it for yourself.
